CODY 9/2/2013

Yesterday I went around to see Rebecca and drop off some Scoparia
for
Miss  Bindi because it's her favourite and came home with another
koala!
Rebecca,  Jay & Stephanie were off to Middle Rock CARAVAN PARK to get a koala
with a
stained  bottom. So I went with them to help, and save them having to
drop it
off with  me anyway. As I have the only cage left. She did have a
stained
bottom but  also after we got her down we noticed she had
proliferate
conjunctiva in the  right eye. No sign of infection at present, I
think it
has been badly  infected and gotten better on it's own. After a bath
her
bottom wasn't  stained at all and she spent the night rearranging the
cot. As
you can see,  you pull the nappy off the foam cushion, throw the
nappy back
in the basket  thingo and use the foam as a seat. Very comfy thank
you! She
is a bit of a  spit fire and makes one hell of a racket if you try
and do
anything with her.  Taking supp feeds in basket ok, but she is now in
a cage
so that could  change. I've been watching her bottom in the cage and
she does
appear to be  wet, but she is eating well and pellets are good. She
did 100
between luch  time yesterday and this morning. I have not started any
meds as
yet, will  take ger to Alex NOAHS ARK VET on Tuesday as Monday and Wednesday are a
wipeout
with  everyone else going. Cheers Sue

Spoke to Don about Cody today and she is to start antibiotics for the
  wet
bottom which is early onset. She does small, frequent streams. She did one
while I was in the cage this morning and it consisted of about 10ml of
  clear
urine with no apparent straining or pain. As there are already two
  koalas
booked in for ultra sounds on Wednesday Don thought it would be OK
for  me to
treat her and bring her in for a resection when he gets back in a
week.  She
is eating well, pelleting well and I'm hoping it will be an easy
fix  for
her. Fingers crossed that's how it goes with her. She is a real
  little
sweetie. Sue

Miss Cody is doing extremely well! she has only 3 more days to go
  on
antibiotics. She does a big wee now that runs out the cage door. She
  is
eating extremely well and her pellets have improved as well. She is a
  placid
little girl with a pouch that looks well used. Tolley became aware of
  her a
couple of nights ago and she knew it, and that is the first time she
  has
come to the floor trying to get away from that" boy". But Tolley is
  now
relaxing in the sunrice  rehab for a few days before he is released so she was
  more
settled last night. She likes to relax in the cage as you can see by
  the
photos. She will be seeing Don noahs ark vet as soon as he gets back to see what he
  thinks
about her eye. Cheers Sue

Hi Everyone. Miss Cody went to see Don NOAHS ARK VET for the first time today. She let
everyone in Anna Bay know she was being put in a basket, then she let everyone
in Nelson Bay know Don was looking at her teeth!  Her wet bottom symptoms have been gone for 10 days ,
antibiotics stopped  3 days ago. The eye that was ? Chlamydia is actually an old
injury and there is  no sight in that eye so a resection would be pointless. Don
said she is an Aged  adult and in extremely good condition so she was
microchipped (without a peep,  believe it or not) and can be released when she
has been off Antibiotics for 7  days. She weighs 7kg exactly and has put on 340
grams. SUE

 I'm old, I'm fat and I'm grumpy! I hiss
Can't take your eye off her in case SOMEONE tries to be nice. I eat
  everything
THEY  gives me which explains my tummy, and I have no idea how to
  sit like a
lady. THEY said if I wasn't nice she was going to throw me out in
  the rain on
Friday but if I was good she would wait until Sat and see if it
  fines up. I
don't care either way. Cody

Hi Everyone. Cody was released at Middle Rock Caravan Park this
afternoon in
the same tree she was rescued from.release was watched by her namesake who is the
manangers
daughter. They are in the process of planting 70 mature swampy
saplings in
there which is great. Cody weighed 6.96kg up 300 gr . Cheers Sue
