Donation To Port Maquarie Koala Hospital

_DONATION TO PORT MACQUARIE KOALA HOSPITAL
On November 14th Geoff and Betty Bartlett generously made a donation to Port Macquarie Koala
Hospital from Tomaree Koala Inc for the amount of $3,000.00. This donation was made on behalf of the
koalas of the Tomaree and Tilligerry Peninsulas. For many years the hospital has helped us out in the
care of the Port Stephens koalas and always at no charge to the Society.
They have taken bushfire victims as well as joeys into their kindergarten and have helped out with
koalas with serious problems and long term patients. This year when we had too many koalas in care for
the number of cages available they took little Sophia whose eyes just wouldn't get better and freed up a
cage for another sick koala and they returned her with beautiful eyes. They looked after her for six
weeks on antibiotics and eye ointment again at no charge to the Society. They also took baby Brooke
into Kindy and returned him ready for release. This year they will be taking three of our joeys into
Kindy, Eli, MG and Baby Grace.
This donation is to thank them for their past kindness and to help pay for any treatment future Hunter
Koalas may require. Geoff and Tomaree Koala Inc. have been very generous to the Society in the past.
Last year they donated display boards to be used for fundraising and educational purposes valued at
$3,000.00. And Geoff was instrumental in securing HKPS the Sunrice Sponsorship. Geoff and Betty
also transported little Eli up to the hospital and put him in the kindy for me.
