ISLA 31/10/2012

Hello ... me again... Got a call last night about 7-30pm... A koala trying to climb the metal pole in the middle of Bunnings round about ....there are lots of metal poles on that round about ... We went around back and forth ... into the car park and decided to one last round and turn at the carpet place..... as we drove back we saw it !!!! As did three other cars all of whom stopped (can you believe it !!!).. It was so small it had trouble getting up the cement island in the middle of the round about... Jay and a lady stopped it as it once again tried to climbed the metal pole ..., got the basket out and put the very quiet reserved little koala into the basket and brought it home to give it the once over ..... It was a 3.9 kg little female... as feisty as all get out .... biting, screaming and grabbing..... trying every which way to get out of the basket ... As we very carefully checked we saw there was blood on the bity and also on the bluey on the bottom of the basket.... a small amount of colour on her right thigh but no obvious wounds.... we kept her over night and then to see Alex this morning ... Alex gave her a good going over while Jay and I , with some difficulty, kept Alex safe.... Alex was surprised at how strong she was and also how stressed...... Microchip and Release.. We decided to release in the Salamander fire trails .... ( and hope she doesn't do an Ainsley) As the story goes .. I chose a nice Swampy and she jumped out the side of the basket and went up a Mel...9 Stay safe beautiful little Isla...... ...Fran...
