_ Jacinta was rescued from Fingal Bay.. she was spotted by visitors that were staying
in the local caravan park.. She had crusty eyes and was on the ground. When the
rescuers got there, they were told that the koala had gone up a tree to
get away from all the people that were crowding around it.
The three people waiting told the rescuers that the koala looked like it had conjunctivitis and that one eye was only opened a small amount when she was on the ground. They stopped her from going on the road several times and then she started walking around in circles. Lots of other tourists came for a look while they were ringing the rescue number so they shooed her towards the nearest tree for safety.
She had no microchip, so the lady who rang us had her friends young daughter with her named Jacinta...
Jacinta (the koala) has the most beautiful big ears, she is very gentle.. Her eyes were very sore.

Jacinta
went to see Don Hudson, NAVC the vet this morning. She was
microchipped.
Her eyes have been better for some time and her wees are finally larger and less frequent. She will be glad when she realises that there will be no more injections of antibiotics each morning now. She will be kept for another week to make sure the symptoms don't return, but all going well she should be released next Wednesday night back at Fingal Bay..
She has the most amazing ears that she flicks at me when she's unhappy (a lot).

Jacinta
was released tonight back at Fingal Bay. As usual, she was
unpredictable. She climbed back down from the swampy we'd chosen and took
off along the ground to goodness knows where, but away from us. We went
along the bike path to make sure she wasn't heading straight out onto the road,
but we couldn't see her. Maybe she knew of a perfect place..
Stay Safe Lovely Lady and keep those ears away from dogs and cars....
