JOANIE 13/9/2012

Hi Everyone. Big morning so far. At 8.30am we got a call to Keel St
Salamander Bay concerning a koala in a back yard. A lovely elderly couple
called Mervyn & Joan had a dead Paw Paw tree in their back yard and that's
where she was. They also had a dog but he was inside. Easy Peasy rescue, in
the basket and home. It was a little girl, 3.8kg with an empty pouch and no
chip. I micro chipped her and I took her and Levi together
to be released in the same spot. They are in trees next to each other. A
pigeon pair of little bunyips about 20 ft up staring at one another. Now I
got photos of Levi's release as he is one of those little guys who freezes
when you look at him, but miss Joanie was a different kettle of fish. As I
was doing the release by myself (Noel had been at work all night so he went
to bed)I had turned the camera on and put it down beside the basket. I took
the lid off and by the time I picked up the camera the koala was gone! So
this is the only photo of Joanie. Cheers Sue
