KIRSTY 9/9/2012

Picture
Jay rescued Kirsty this afternoon sitting in the middle of the road in Shelby Close Anna Bay. Kirsty is a serial offender of mine and I wouldn’t be surprised if she hangs around with Ziggy. Previous rescues;   8/9/05   UE 5.5kg , aged as an adult by Don, Chipped and relocated the same day

    24/10/08  UE,   6kg, relocated

 12/12/09  UE,  6.1kg , relocated

   21/1/10   UE, 5.9kg  , relocated

Today she only weighs 4.5kg. So a considerable weight loss since last rescue. She is starving and is eating her head off in my cage. She will go to Don AT NOAHS ARK VET in the morning for a health check and her age reviewed. No clinical signs of Chlamydia so far.

Miss Kirsty is back in the cage this morning because she had had enough of
the cot thank you very much. She had trashed the cot and was sitting on a
log when I got up this morning and had eaten everything. Last night Noel & I
noticed a cloudiness of her corneas that wasn't there before, Fran & Jay
came around and gave a second opinion this morning and they both agree her
eyes were not like this at time of rescue. She has no discharge at all, but
she has what appears to look like dirt around her eyes. So we are assuming
it is chlamydia and will start treatment today. She has an app with Don NOAHS ARK VET in
the morning. She has put on a stack of weight already and her pellets are
perfect (156) which is a big improvement since she arrived. I don't
understand why she was not able to feed herself as there is heaps of food in
the area she was found. And she definitley has no trouble eating, actually
she barely stops. So we will see what Don thinks in the morning.

Miss Kirsty, my dear old girl who has the cataracts was doing
well in the cage and staying up on the logs. So she was transferred to
Fran's rehab this morning to see how she coped with something on a bigger
scale. She came in at 5.8kg and she went to Fran weighing 6.6kg. She was not
happy in the cage anymore and her eating and pellet count had dropped off.

Kristy, Poor old girl... She found the tree Wed night (well she knew where it was but I had taken the surround away so she has access to it)  and spent all of Thursday in it ... came down at 10-30 pm ,went into the Guyna , climbed very easily and ate a little... Seems she has decided to spend the day in the Guyna today...
