Noel and Jay rescued this
handsome boy near Bunning's, apparently many
people had seen him playing with the cars and up a telegraph pole but only one
rang ????
No one actually saw him come
into contact with a car but just to be sure he came and spent the night at
Aunty Frans.
He really didn't like it when
the top of the basket was on, he tried to get out from the top, bottom and all
sides. Take the top off and was more willing to sit.
He did rearrange the leaf in the
cage during the night, and left pellets all over the floor. A nice wee ticked
all the boxes for a boy to be released.
Took him to see Uncle Don this morning for a check and a chip.
Well you know how I said he
didn't like the lid on in the basket? We had to wait a little while in the
waiting room, the basket looked like it had a poltergeist in it, rocking like
you wouldn't believe. I lifted the towel that eased him a little but he wanted
the lid off ! No, I wasn't tempted to do that in the waiting room.
Took him into Don and explained
that he "wanted out". I tentatively started to lift the lid, but I didn't
have enough hands to lift and catch at the same time, so Don offered to lift as
I restrained the poltergeist. I gave him the bitey, he growled and attacked it.
All at the surgery were excited to see a really cute, healthy Koala ... They
had seen so many sick ones lately. I happened to look over my shoulder to see
what Stephanie (my offsider for the day) was doing, standing very, very close
to the door. Think she was wanting "out" too. lol
He really wasn't that bad, he
let Don look at his teeth without too much trouble - Age: 4 years
Then the microchip. Now he was a good boy, but he said "if you think I am going
to sit still while you do that to me " Done but with a little more effort on
our side.Lid replaced, Koa not happy
Off to release him. We chose a
place that would take him a little while to get back to Bunnings !
He calmed down once in the car
and really didn't try and get out after his ordeal with Don.
Even though I thought he may
jump out he didn't. I had to put my hand under his beautiful bottom to tell
him it was OK. As he went up he did some "bouncing" and then a jump, he walked
up a thin branch , reached over to the other tree and ate some leaf from it,
"That was because Aunty Fran was starving a boy !"
The wind came up and he was
waving around on that thin branch, "what wind ?"
We left this stunner with a
"stay away from cars" and Uncle Richard told him not to go "buying and hardware
! " Yes that too, a boy thing ?
Nice to meet you handsome boy,
it has been a real pleasure to see a young healthy boy, who really was very
quiet when we were alone.
Would love to see him in a year
or two, he is going to be a big boy. Find you own territory this year and have
some beautiful babies.
