_ Monday  27-2-2012  turned out to be a very busy day for HKPS..Three rescues..

That evening.. late.. we got a call that a Koala had been hit by car outside Samurai Beach entrance... (One Mile)

She was handed to me by a fellow who had picked her up in a towel.. he was holding her under her arms and up quite high in the air.. She was biting the towel quite viciously (as they do..).. I said "Oh! be careful"... I was told " its OK I've done this before"... so I said “great will you just put her in my basket then” .... no problem was the reply... by far the easiest rescue ever ....

She had lacerations on her face ....a bald patch on her abdomen but no grazing there... The rescuers said they thought that the car had run over her middle...

Panya was named after an indigenous girl that works at the Worimi Centre at Williamtown...

Panya was taken to see Rod Star at Tanilba Bay VET ..... He was happy with her.. other than her facial injuries she appears to have no other injuries....

Take her home and observe....

Panya had a very sore face and was eating only soft leaf for a few days...

Otherwise all went to plan and she was released at Samurai Beach Resort One Mile....

Stay away from the roads darling girl....
