These people are the rescuers that help the H.K.P.S.
Sue goes out on rescues as often as she can. She knows so much about koalas, but likes to say that she is still learning - well we all are - they're all so different.
Noel knows more about koalas than he'll admit. He trained as a carer but leaves that to Sue these days. How can you not be involved when your wife hand-raises Joeys? Noel regularly goes out on rescues.
June and Doug Wheen
June and Doug have been rescuing since 2010.
Simone is our Rescue Coordinator and is involved with organising most rescues and is on site for a lot of them too. Her husband Steve, holding the gorgeous Joey in the photo below, and their two sons are very supportive of her dedication. Steve is a rescuer and the boys may be too when they're a little older.
Frank and Jacqui Hales
Jacqui and Frank are often out doing rescues as well as being carers.
John is another rescuer.
Loreto joined HKPS in early 2009 and apart from holding the Secretary position for all these years, she also helps out with rescues and picks leaf regularly for the carers.
Sammi has been rescuing and caring for koalas since 2014.
Annie isn't able to be a carer any more but is still on the lookout for koalas in danger and helps out with rescues.
Sharon helps Annie with rescues because they're neighbours.
Brian Gordon helps with occasional rescues, acquiring logs for cages, and supports his wife Carmel's work
Carmel helps out occasionally with rescues but is more likely to be spending time doing committee work and caring for koalas.
