TAHYA

Little Tayha was
trying to cross a very busy road at Salamander Bay.
She was helped by
a young girl and her mum.
The girl attends a
local school who are very aware of koalas and their plight.
I have spoken to
the entire school and they introduced me to their "resident koalas" great to
see the students and teachers so involved.
They also have
planted many, many koala food trees and plan to plant more.
Well done
SOLDIERS POINT SCHOOL !!
Back to Tayha (the
koala), the girl and her mum stayed with Tayha and made sure that while she
crossed other roads and scanned non food trees she was safe, until we got
there. Tayha had been taught by her mum to cross the road. We were getting a
number of calls about a mother and baby crossing the road around Christmas
time. Now we are getting calls about a small koala crossing the road in that
area, no doubt not just Tayha. Problem is really good food trees on opposite
sides of the road.
So Tayha is a very
healthy little girl. We micro chipped her, told her to please stay safe and
released her in some bush away from the road but she will be back ... our hope
is that other people help her, and the others cross ... so far they have been
lucky.
Now I didn't tell
you the little girls name did I ? Can you guess ?
Our thanks to these two doesn't seem enough, it never does, but -Thank YOU
